Airsoft team “Vanagas” established official organization, association “Vilniaus straikbolo ir sporto klubas Vanagas”.
The purpose of the organization is to coordinate the activities of the club members, represent and protect their interests, as well as other actions related to organization of Airsoft games and popularization of Airsoft in general.
We try to popularize Airsoft by spreading the information about the game and its non-violent nature. We organize the games for youth and for kids with the permission of their parents. During outdoor activities which are similar to military ones, young people get a chance to learn discipline and teamwork and are encouraged to avoid outrage and violence.
In March 2007 “Vanagas” participated in the premiere of the war movie “Letters from Iwo Jima” which took place in the Coca Cola Forum Cinemas movie theater in Vilnius. We demonstrated Airsoft “guns” to the public, talked about Airsoft, its history and development in Lithuania.
In spring of 2008 “Vanagas” helped “Vilnius youth tourists center” to organize tourism competition for the students from Vilnius schools. “Vanagas” members were judges on this competition and controlled how teams from over 40 Vilnius schools put camping tents and passed complicated obstacle course.
In May 2008 “Vanagas” signed cooperation agreement with Lithuanian Grand Duke’s Kęstutis motorized infantry battalion, Lithuanian army motorized infantry brigade “Iron wolf”. This agreement will allow our club and the whole Lithuanian Airsoft community to cooperate with Lithuanian military forces much closer and improve the relations between the society and the Army in general.
